Agios Gordios Beach

Agios Gordios beach view

Agios Gordios is one of the most famous and beautiful beaches on Corfu Island.

Agios Gordios Beach is loved by both tourists and locals for its clean, calm waters, great views, taverns serving fresh seafood, nice beach bars, and well-developed infrastructure.

It is situated on the southwest coast of Corfu, in the village of Agios Gordios.

The symbol of Agios Gordios is a rock in the sea on the left side of the beach.

The rock is visible from different parts of the island and makes the place very recognizable.

Don’t forget to take some great pictures with Agios Gordios’ panoramic view in the background.

There is a special spot for a photoshoot on the right side of the road at the top of the hill, about 1 kilometre from Agios Gordios village.

These photos will make the most beautiful memories of your vacation!

The Agios Gordios beachline stretches for a few kilometres and has a few distinct parts.

Starting from the section equipped with sunbeds, showers, and many restaurants, it gradually changes into a quieter area with soft sand and a couple of beach bars.

Take a few minutes’ walk to the right and you will reach the rusty Libyan shipwreck on the rocky part of the beach.

The shipwreck washed ashore on Corfu about 20 years ago and has since become a real tourist attraction.

The amazing view of the old ship slowly dissolving over time and the endless sea create a magical atmosphere, making the place perfect for unforgettable memories.

If you are looking for a truly secluded place, continue walking and you will find a part of the beach without any signs of civilization.

This part of the beach is covered with tiny black rocks and is also known as Black Sands Beach.

The area is perfect for having private beach time, a solitary yoga session, or thoughtful meditation while enjoying the great views and picturesque rocks.

Spend some transcendent time at Black Sands Beach to fill your mind and body with the positive energy of nature.
